100×100 Achille

On the 16th of February we are going to celebrate the centenary of Achille Castiglioni with a special exhibition: 100×100 Achille.

Fondazione Achille Castiglioni developed a peculiar project: some of the most famous designers of the world have been asked to bring a present to Achille’s party with a personal birthday card.

The party is the occasion to celebrate Achille Castiglioni and the contribute he provided to the contemporary design.

    The presents

The presents are different types of objects in category, material and use, but with a smart design individuated by the guests.

They contribute in the creation of the nucleus of a possible “Anonymous Object Museum”, with objects made by anonymous designers, but chosen by well-known designers.

    Birthday cards

Every designer received a postcard as invitation that become their personal birthday card, live a ready-made action “alla Castiglioni”.

    The exhibition

The project was curated by Chiara Alessi and Domitilla Dardi for Fondazione Achille Castiglioni.

The staging was designed by Calvi e Brambilla Studio, that created a flying structured display, linear to the general concept of this project.

The exhibition identity was curated by Davide Soldarini of casostudio.

The opening of the exhibition is on the 16th of February, only on invitation.

The exhibition will be hosted by Fondazione Achille Castiglioni in Piazza Castello 27, Milan, from the 19th of February to the 30th of April 2018.

The catalogue is available and edited by Corraini.
