protoype hat

Ready to experiment in the new field of men’s clothing, Castiglioni elaborates the prototype of a man’s hat for the Borsalino  exhibition “Hats and shoes by 12 designers: Gae Aulenti, Mario Bellini, Andrea Branzi, Achille Castiglioni, Ignazio Gardella, Ugo La Pietra, Vico Magistretti, Enzo Mari, Alessandro Mendini, Paolo Portoghesi, Roberto Sambonet, Ettore Sottsass”. The exhibition brought together pieces styled by a selection of  Italian authors, made by Borsalino Sheraton. Inspired by objects with a domestic memory, Castiglioni swirls the felt, giving the crown the form of a “grandma’s pudding”, rested on a narrow brim.
