CUMANO

Cumano is one of the most exemplary redesign projects of Castiglioni (starting from the classic street-coffee table from the nineteenth century).

The stove-enamelled top is sustained by three legs in made of steel rods. A rotating metal joint, in a self-lubricating material to protect the enamel of the metal, moves the third leg and enables the flat folding of the object.

After being folded, the small table can also be stowed away or hung up on a wall. A hole on its top – accompanied by a specially designed peg – in fact adds the idea of “hanging” to the one of “stowing”, inherent of the original project.
